The South Australian Defence Industry Workforce and Skills Taskforce is a partnership between the South Australian and Australian governments and the defence industry to ensure we have the highly skilled workforce to draw upon.
The Taskforce’s role is to understand the skills, occupations and volumes required in the defence workforce, improve awareness, attraction, inclusion and diversity, identify education and skills reforms to build the required workforce, enable workforce pipeline and early and mid-career transition, and improve workforce productivity and innovation.
To fulfil the major defence projects on our horizon, we must ensure we have the right people in leadership roles now, and an appropriately skilled cohort of future leaders ready and waiting to take the helm.
As part of the Defence Teaming Centre’s flagship Defence Industry Leadership Program, the Department for Industry, Innovation and Science is proud to partner with industry to double the number of participants for 2024.
This program has supported hundreds of mid-career defence industry professionals over more than a decade, growing their confidence and capability as decision-makers. Graduates of the program gain a nationally recognised Diploma of Leadership and Management, along with the skills and knowledge to navigate the many opportunities that lie ahead.
