By entering the 2021 Science Alive giveaway held by the Department for Innovation and Skills (“DIS”) (“the Giveaway”) from 10 to 14 November 2021 (“the Giveaway Period”), you agree to all of the following terms and conditions.

  • Eligible Entrants

To be eligible to enter the Giveaway, the Entrant must:

  1. be over 18 years old;
  2. ordinarily reside in the South Australia;
  3. not be employed by DIS, or be an Immediate Family Member of a person employed by DIS; and
  4. not be employed by Science Alive, or a volunteer of Science Alive, or be an Immediate Family Member of a person employed by Science Alive.
  • Date and Manner of Draw
    1. The Giveaway will be drawn physically on 15 November 2021 at 9.00 am (ACST) (“Draw Date”) at 11 Waymouth Street Adelaide SA 5000 by a relevant person nominated by DIS.
    2. Each eligible comment submitted gives rise to an equal opportunity of winning a Prize.
  • Notification of Winners and Delivery of Prize
    1. Each winning Entrant will be notified on 15 November 2021 of their win through their social media handle specified in their entry and the winning Entrant will be asked to provide an email address.
    2. The Prize will be emailed to the winning Entrant addressed to their email address provided by the winning Entrant to DIS following their notification of their win.
  • Unclaimed Prizes
    1. If a winning Entrant does not provide their details prior to the event beginning 20 November 2021, that Prize will be forfeited to another Entrant or to DIS in DIS’ absolute discretion.
  • No Liability
    1. DIS reserves the right to cancel the Giveaway at its absolute discretion and is not liable to any Entrant in relation to such cancellation.
    2. To the full extent permitted by law, DIS is not liable for any injury, damages, expenses, or loss whatsoever (whether direct or inconsequential) to persons or property as a result of the Entrant entering into the Giveaway or accepting or using the prize.
    3. This Giveaway has no affiliation with Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter and is not responsible for the Entrant’s use of any of these services/platforms.
  • Definitions
    1. Entrant means the person who enters into the Giveaway by commenting on the social media post.
    2. Immediate Family Member means any child, stepchild, grandchild, parent, stepparent, grandparent, spouse, former spouse, sibling, niece, nephew, mother-in-law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, or sister-in-law (including adoptive relationships) of the person, and includes any other person sharing the person’s household.
    3. Science Alive means relevant entity that manages Science Alive and its related body corporate(s).
